A 38-year-old St. Joseph man is charged with a felony for allegedly leading a law-enforcement officer on a high-speed pursuit in Lafayette County on August 5.

According to a Lexington Police report, an officer attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver of a vehicle sped away at a high rate of speed and traveled on several city streets, running stop signs and a stop light. The driver eventually stopped the vehicle in a parking lot and fled on foot. Creed Campbell eventually was located and taken into custody.

Court documents say Campbell is charged with a felony for resisting arrest, detention or stop by fleeing. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

Campbell pleaded not guilty during his arraignment hearing on August 6. His next hearing is pending at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
