
Area firefighters were toned out to a structure blaze on Thursday, August 26.
According to the Cooper County Fire Protection District, at approximately 3:30 a.m., firemen were dispatched to an address on Old Highway 40 near Boonville for a structure fire involving an agricultural building.
First arriving fire crews discovered the building was fully involved and had experienced a partial collapse.
Two engines, two tankers and seven personnel responded to the incident.
The barn and its contents were deemed a total loss.
The Boonville Fire Department sent additional personnel to assist; and Greis Trucking and Excavating brought an excavator to help remove pieces of the building.
