The number of COVID-19 hospitalizations continued to increase in Lafayette County on Wednesday, August 25.

According to the Lafayette County Health Department, one more person was hospitalized, increasing the county’s total from 21 on Tuesday, August 24, to 22 on Wednesday.

The active case count decreased by seven from 148 to 141.

There have been 3,252 positive cases and 64 COVID-19-related deaths in the county since the beginning of the pandemic.

As of August 19, the positivity rate was 17.83 percent, according to the CDC Data Tracker.
