The number of COVID-19 hospitalizations remained the same in Lafayette County on Thursday, August 26.

According to the Lafayette County Health Department, 22 county residents are hospitalized due to the virus.

The active case count inched down by three from 141 to 138. The active case count breaks down to: 47 in the 20 to 39 age group; 38 in 40 to 59; 31 in 60 and over; 12 in 0 to 11; and 10 in 12 to 19.

There were 11 additional positive cases on Thursday, raising the county’s total to 3,263; and there have 64 COVID-19-related deaths in the county since the beginning of the pandemic.

As of August 26, the positivity rate was 19.59 percent, according to the CDC Data Tracker.

Health officials say the fully vaccinated rate is 36.9 percent in the county; and 42.5 percent of its residents have received at least one dose.
