The Public Works Department will be painting crosswalks and other roadway markings in and around school zones in Sedalia, beginning at midnight and continuing through 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 2,

Area schools include Washington Elementary School, Heber Hunt Elementary School, Parkview Elementary School and Whittier High School in Sedalia.

According to city officials, conducting work during overnight hours is intended to keep to a minimum impact to residents and visitors coming to the areas during school and business hours.

Travelers may want to avoid these areas as workers and equipment will be in the roadways and lane restrictions will occur.
