Jacqueline L. “Jackie” Vincent, 91, of Slater, died Sunday, August 29, at the Big Bend Retreat in Slater.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, September 2, at Gilliam Cemetery, with Rev. Paul List officiating.  Visitation will be  from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m.  Thursday at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.  Memorials are suggested to Big Bend Retreat in care of the funeral home.

Born February 3, 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Edith Samland.  On April 15, 1946 in Seneca, Kansas, she married Walter V. “Bugs” Kimberling, and he preceded her in death on November 29, 1990.  On January 11, 1992 in Conway, Missouri, she married R.E. Vincent, and he preceded her in death on December 23, 2011.

She is survived by two sons, Walter V. “Sonny” Kimberling, Jr. and his wife Eileen of Warsaw, and Rick Kimberling and his wife Janie of Slater; two granddaughters, Kimberly Sanders and Tracy Thompson; two great-granddaughters, Morgan Thompson and Addison Sanders; a brother, Ronnie Samland of Omaha; and a sister Loretta Samland of the state of Texas.  She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Vincent was a member of the Gilliam Baptist Church.  She was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, serving first as a Clerk at the Gilliam Post Office; and later at the Blackwater Post Office, where she retired as Post Mistress.
