blood-drive-2

The Community Blood Center announced there is a blood shortage that has reached emergency levels on August 30. Officials say due to the COVID-19 Delta variant there have been great drops in blood donations.

According to Fitzgibbon Memorial Hospital, the local supply has further dropped to a less than three-days supply of readily available blood.

A CBC Blood Drive is scheduled to be held at Fitzgibbon Memorial Hospital from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, September 10. Blood donations will take place in Classroom 1, 2 and 3.

Officials say appointments are recommended. All donors are asked to wear masks and temperatures will be checked at the door.

To make an appointment, go to savealifenow.org and enter the group code (KCCH), or call (660) 886-7431 (ext. 257).
