In February, President Joe Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act into law, and counties and cities throughout the country are slated to receive a piece of the multi-trillion-dollar pie.

The city of Marshall applied to get more than $2.5 million total earlier this year, and Ward 1 Councilman Leon Thompson gave an update on the funding at the council meeting on Tuesday, September 7.

Later on, Thompson said the city wants to develop a social-media presence, and the council and city attorney Josh Taylor will put together a proposal for a social-media policy and bring it before the council for possible approval during a future meeting.
