On Monday, September 13, Lafayette County Health Department officials reported one additional COVID-19-related death, bringing its total to 70 since the beginning of the pandemic.

There were 11 new positive cases, raising that total to 3,394.

The active case count has dropped dramatically to 68. However, currently there are 15 hospitalizations due to the virus.

The county’s positivity rate as of September 9, was 12.66 percent, per the CDC COVID Data Tracker.

The health department is conducting vaccination clinics from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. The health department administers the Pfizer vaccine, which is available for all persons at least 12 years of age.
