The Marshall-Saline Development Corporation Executive Director gave an update on the current standpoint of funding efforts between MSDC and the National Steamboat Museum project.

According to Executive Director Cydney Mayfield, MSDC continues to support the development at Marshall Junction. However, she clarifies that MSDC will not be holding funds or fundraising on behalf of the National Steamboat Museum.

In a coverage from KMMO on January 11, the MSDC board made an approval to cover a six-figure cost for the National Steamboat Museum’s feasibility study at Marshall Junction.

Bill Stoufer, who requested the funding, stated that he will try to raise fund for reimbursement of the cost of the study to MSDC, in November 2020.

Mayfield explained further.

In November 2020, the MSDC’s initial approval was a motion to commit up to $150,000 for the feasibility study.
