
The Marshall Police Department received information from Saline County E-911 concerning a report of a male subject screaming with his hands on his head, stumbling and laying on an automobile on the 100 block of south Ellsworth Avenue, at approximately 10:49 a.m. today.
Officers and Saline County Ambulance responded to the report and conducted an investigation.
According to a news release, while officers were responding to the location of Ellsworth, Saline County E-911 notified officers the male subject had changed locations and was heading towards businesses near English Avenue and Arrow Street – causing disturbance of traffic in the roadway intersection.
Upon officers arrival at English Avenue and Arrow Street, authorities met with the male subject. The man, then, began to run south towards St. Peter School.
Officials say St. Peter School, as well as Benton School, were contacted and asked to lockdown their facilities for the safety of students and faculty.
Officers deployed a Taser to subdue the man. The subject was then detained and transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital for treatment and evaluation.
