A convicted felon was arrested this week on new felony charges in Carroll County.

According to a Carrollton Police report, on Tuesday, September 14, officers responded to a report of a suspicious car and occupant in the 300 block of South Main Street.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with two subjects and observed a substance that later field tested positive as methamphetamine. During the investigation, one subject fled on foot, and that subject is still at large.

The other subject, 37-year-old Alicia N. Birkhead, of Blue Springs, was arrested and formally charged with a felony for possession of controlled substances. Her bond is set at $7,500 cash only.

Birkhead also was on parole, and as a result of her new charges, the Missouri Department of Corrections issued a Felony Parole Warrant and Birkhead has been remanded back into the custody of the D.O.C.

According to court documents, the other subject is 37-year-old Kelly Thomas Coke, of Malta Bend. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. He is charged with felonies for possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest by fleeing. Bond is set at $20,000 cash only.

Each subject’s initial hearing is pending at Carroll County Circuit Court.
