
Sedalia Police officers made an arrest on August 25, and the Sedalia man has been formally charged with a drug-related felony.
According to the police department, the Crime Resolution Unit (CRU) served two search warrants related to an ongoing investigation involving the alleged distribution of fentanyl in the Sedalia area.
A search warrant was served at in Room 125 at 1217 South Limit Avenue, and a male subject was taken into custody without incident. Authorities say a search of the motel room revealed capsules containing fentanyl, drug paraphernalia and U.S. currency believed to be the profit of illegal drug sales. An additional search warrant was served at 1208 South Carr Avenue, a residence known to be utilized by the male suspect for drug-related activity. Additional items of evidence were located to further indicate the male suspect was involved in the distribution of fentanyl.
According to court documents, Viktor Gergovskyy is charged with a felony for trafficking drugs or attempt in the first degree. Bond has not been set yet.
Gergovskyy was arraigned on August 30. A counsel-status hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
