
Herbert F. Aversman, 102, of Concordia, MO, died Tuesday, September 21, at Good Shepherd Care Community in Concordia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 24, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia, with Pastor Michael Pottschmidt officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 23, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Burial with military rites will be held in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery. Born July 4, 1919, in Waverly, MO, he was the son of the late Henry P. Aversman and Meta Martens Aversman. He lived in the Concordia area since 1924 and was a retired farmer. On September 12, 1948, he married Viola M. Miller who preceded him in death on June 14, 2007. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he had served as an elder and on the Finance Committee. He was a U.S Army veteran of World War II serving from February 19, 1942 to September 28, 1945. He was a lifetime member of Concordia V.F.W. Post 5649 and a member of Concordia American Legion Post 258.
Survivors include one daughter, Jenny Beerman of Kansas City, MO; one son, John Aversman (Denise) of rural Concordia; former son-in-law, Curt Beerman of Leawood, KS; daughter-in-law, Roxann Aversman Barber (Steve) of Edwards, MO; six grandchildren, Leslie Krueger (Austin), Martin Beerman (Elizabeth), Jeremy Aversman (Sonya), Ben Beerman (Kristen), Sydney Wiles (Lucas) and Emily Aversman; eight great-grandchildren, Noah and Tyler Krueger, Nick, Evelyn, and Julia Beerman, Ridgeway Beerman, Dalton and Delaney Aversman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Herbert was preceded in death by two sons, Mark Aversman and Bruce Aversman; and seven sisters, Elsie Weber, Edna Wienberg, Helen Nienhueser, Velma Nienhueser, Verna Nienhueser, Lorine Thomason and Laura Henning.
