A 61-year-old Raytown woman was killed when she was struck by a freightliner in Saline County on Wednesday, September 22.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when an eastbound freightliner, driven by 37-year-old Christopher Johnson, of Dandridge, Tennessee, struck Jamie Barnett, who was in the roadway.

Barnett was pronounced deceased at the scene at 2:04 a.m. by a Saline County Deputy. Johnson was not injured.

The accident happened at 1 a.m. at the 65 mile marker on I-70.
