During the Slater City Council meeting on Tuesday, September 21, Kelly Beets presented an earned MIRMA award to the council.

Beets explained how to award was earned.

Trench boxes, also known as trench shields are steel or aluminum structures used for protecting utility workers while performing work within a trench to avoid cave-ins.

In other news from the meeting, Mayor Dr. Stephen Allegri announced a flu-shot and COVID-19 vaccination clinic is scheduled to be held in Slater. Residents can receive either shots from 1 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19, at Slater City Hall at 232 North Main Street.
