At its meeting this week, the Carrollton Town Council was asked to approve a bid from Red Rock for a demolition project.

City Administrative Assistant Terry Bell said the Town Council approved the bid of $35,000 to tear down four residential properties.

In other news, Bell said the council also approved the request for the Kiwanis Kids’ Day Parade to take place beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 30.

Bell said the parade will start in front of the Carrollton Public Library, go around the square and back to the library.

The city also is preparing for the annual Carrollton Band Day, which begins in the morning hours of Saturday, September 25.
