Marshall firefighters were toned out to a structure blaze on Sunday, September 26.
According to a fire department spokesperson, the alarm sounded at 9:21 p.m., and firefighters arrived on the scene three minutes later to a fully involved detached garage fire in the 900 block of East Eastwood Street. Firefighters say earlier in the day the caretaker was burning wood away from the garage, and the fire had not completely gone out. Embers from that brush pile blew near the garage.
Firefighters estimate the losses at $15,000 for the garage- which was valued at $45,000- and $2,000 of the $6,000 of its contents.
No injuries were reported from the scene.
