An area county is scheduled to host a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Course, open to the public.

The Johnson County Emergency Management Agency has announced a free training course that teaches persons how prepare for a disaster.

Officials say participants will learn about disaster preparedness, disaster medical operations, search and rescue, fire safety and utility control.
