Fitzgibbon Hospital is scheduled to host a walk-in COVID-19 Booster Clinic on the Missouri Valley College campus this week.

The Missouri Valley College Malcom Center will be the host for a booster clinic from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 30.

The clinic is scheduled to administer the Pfizer booster shots, along with the Pfizer and Moderna third dose shots – available to eligible immunocompromised individuals.

Health officials say booster and third dose shots are administered at different sequence and to differing eligible individuals. For its upcoming clinic, participants must have completed their initials series of the Pfizer vaccine by March 28.

Persons are eligible for a booster shot – at least six month after their initial Pfizer vaccination series – if they are

  • Age 65 years and older;
  • Age 18-64 and at-risk for severe disease due to an eligible underlying medical condition;
  • Age 18-64 years who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of job risk or institutional setting (e.g. front-line medical workers, teachers, and first responders)

A list of medical conditions categorized as high-risk by the CDC is available on it’s website at cdc.gov.

Eligible individuals must bring their original vaccine card – which shows the manufacturer/type of vaccine and administration dates.
