The proposed Fiscal Year 2021-22 budget was considered for approval by the Marshall City Council during its special meeting on Tuesday, September 28.

During the regular meeting of the council on September 20, Ward 2 Councilman Kirk Arends touched on some of the bullet points of the upcoming fiscal year’s budget, including a slight bump in salary for all city workers.

So, during its meeting on Tuesday, the council voted to approve the second reading of the ordinance for the budget.

Some of the hard numbers include: projected revenues of $11,941,516; projected expenditures of $11,917,270; leaving a surplus of $24,246.

The city’s current fiscal year ends on September 30. The new fiscal year begins on October 1.
