The Marshall Municipal Utilities’ Board of Public Works approved several action items on its agenda on Thursday, September 30.
Director of Electric Distribution Doug Root reported Poor Boy Tree Service is concluding its first year of a three-year tree trimming and brush spraying contract. The contracted company has trimmed 555 trees, in additional to removing 498.
Root requested a motion to keep crews onsite with an approval of an $150,000 budget contract for Fiscal Year 2022. The motion was approved.
Next, Director of Underground Facilities Grant Piper said the open-cut method water and sewer main replacement is an annual project, and the purchase of a walk-behind concrete saw would improve safety and efficiency when cutting city streets for projects.
Piper requested a motion to request bids for a walk-behind concrete saw with a budget of $18,000. The board approved the motion.
In other news from the meeting, the board authorized the Board President to sign a letter of understanding for the September 30, 2021 audit with Gerding, Korte, and Chitwood.
