Despite the mercury climbing to or past 90 degrees on six days, the average high temperature decreased in September from August in Marshall.

According to numbers provided by the National Weather Service, the average high temperature at the KMMO Studio was 84.5 degrees in September, down from 88.3 degrees in August. The high of 91 degrees was recorded on September 21 and 29.

The average low temperature was 59 degrees, down nearly double digits from the average low of 67.9 degrees in August. The low of 44 degrees was registered on September 23.

Measurable precipitation was recorded on only three of the 30 days, with the monthly total being 1.81 inches. Just over an inch (1.02) fell on September 21, and 77-hundredths of an inch was recorded on September 4.
