The elevated water tank (water tower) located just north if I-70 and east of U.S. Highway 65 at Marshall Junction is now functioning.

Rich Rhodes, of Rhodes Engineering, gave an update during the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, September 30.

Rhodes, who is the engineer for the county, said he talked to the project manager and asked how much the tank would cost if it was bid today.

Rhodes continued with an update on the water distribution project.

Rhodes says there is a lot of cleanup still remaining with this project, including grass seeding around the area that was cleared for the project.

This project is being paid for from sales-tax proceeds. County voters approved a half-cent sales tax for countywide economic development in April 2018. It will remain in effect until December 31, 2038.
