
Pia Carter, of Sedalia, was arrested on July 8 in connection with reported thefts in Pettis County.
According to the Sedalia Police Department, police officers and detectives executed a search warrant on a residence in the 100 block of East Johnson Street as part of an investigation into ongoing thefts which had been occurring at Walmart since May 2021.
During the execution of the search warrant, evidence was obtained that, coupled with the investigation, led to Carter’s arrest
Court documents say Carter is charged with a felonies for first-degree burglary and stealing of $750 or More. Carter posted $10,000 surety bond on July 13.
Carter waived formal arraignment on September 7, and her next hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday, October 4, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
