
Late last week, a vehicle pursuit was initiated, during which the fleeing suspects allegedly struck a vehicle and failed to stop for law enforcement, running traffic control signals and speeding in excess of 100 MPH in Pettis County.
According to a release from the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office, this pursuit continued to the west county line on U.S. Highway 50 just east of Johnson County. Authorities say the driver threw multiple baggies out of the vehicle during the pursuit. Four individuals were taken into custody, all from the St. Louis area. So far, one has been charged.
A search of the area revealed bags of marijuana.
According to court documents, 19-year-old Anthony M. Payne, of Florissant, is charged with a felony for resisting arrest, detention or stop by fleeing and two misdemeanors. Bond is set at $10,000.
Payne’s initial hearing is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
