A Fayette man who has been charged with a couple of felonies following the report of a stolen all-terrain vehicle last month is due in court.
According to a Fayette Police Department report, the ATV was reported stolen on September 16. On September 17, Teddy Lee Jefferson was reported driving the ATV. When he was located by authorities, they say Jefferson drove off into a field and had to be apprehended in the field off of Highway 124.
According to court documents, Jefferson is charged with felonies for tampering with a motor vehicle in the first degree and resisting arrest, detention or stop by fleeing. Bond is fixed at $20,000 cash only. The court denied Jefferson’s request for bond reduction on September 23.
Jefferson was arraigned on September 21, and his counsel-status hearing is scheduled to be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 12, at Howard County Circuit Court.
