A 60-year-old Belton man who is facing a drug-related felony charge after authorities say they found controlled substances in a vehicle that belonged to him in Pettis County on March 5 is due in court this week.

According to a probable-cause statement, authorities executed a narcotics search warrant on Bugger Town Road and say they found more than $1,200 and a small Ziploc bag containing a crystal substance in jeans that belonged to Ricky Coutts.

In Coutts’ vehicle, authorities say they also located 10 separate clear bags with a crystal substance, weighing a total of 138 grams.

Coutts is charged with a felony for trafficking drugs in the second degree. Coutts posted surety bond on March 25.

Coutts waived his formal arraignment and pleaded not guilty on June 7.

Coutts’ next hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday, October 18, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
