More than 50 students were isolated due to COVID-19 protocols in a Lafayette County school district as of its last update.

According to officials in the Lexington R-5 School District, 51 students were under quarantine, as of the report on Friday, October 15. However, that number is four fewer than the report the week before.

There have been 47 total confirmed positive cases of COVID-19- up from 40 the week before- in the district thus far this school year. They break down as 20 at LBS; 11 at LMS; eight at LHS; five at ECC; and three at LLRTC.

District officials say if your student is considered a close contact, you will be notified by the district.
