Evergy has notified the City of Sedalia that electric utility work is scheduled to begin in the area this week.

According to a news release, beginning at midnight on Tuesday, October 19, through 5 a.m. Wednesday, October 20, South Engineer Avenue will be closed to through traffic between East 9th Street and East 15th Street to allow for electric utility work.

City officials say a significant number of utility workers, vehicles and equipment will be working in and along the roadway resulting in the need for road closure. Travelers will need to plan on using an alternate route during this period.
