A 26-year-old Simpsonville, South Carolina, man facing a drug-related felony charge after a large cache of marijuana and other drug-related items allegedly were found in his vehicle after a traffic stop on I-70 in Lafayette County more than a year and a half ago is due in court.

According to a report from a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper, he says he found 256 vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana weighing approximately one pound each; three vacuum-sealed packages containing approximately 98 THC oil cartridges; 18 small containers of marijuana; two packages of THC edibles; and a marijuana cigar in the vehicle driven by Daniel Alzate.

Court documents say Alzate is charged with a felony for delivery of a controlled substance.

Alzate’s case was bound over to the trial division on August 11. Alzate, who pleaded not guilty on April 7, is scheduled to be arraigned at 10 am. Monday, October 18, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
