Richard F. Garner, 85, of Marshall, died Tuesday, October 19, at the Good Shepherd Care Community in Concordia.

Graveside services with military rites will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 22, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the family to help defray funeral expenses. Born February 28, 1936, in Copan, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Austin Garner and Eva Tony Garner. On November 9, 1955, in Council Bluffs, IA, he married Mary A. Conradt who preceded him in death on November 22, 2013. He lived in the Marshall area most of his life and worked in concrete construction. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of American Legion Post 558 in Malta Bend.

Survivors include three children, Edward J. Garner (Cindy) of Slater, MO, Bruce D. Garner of Marshall Junction and Connie M. Garner of Marshall; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lou Shaw of the state of Kansas and Martha ‘Sis” Rogers of the state of Texas; one brother, Eric Garner of the state of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Richard was preceded in death by one son, Randy E. Garner; and six brothers.
