The Glasgow School Board approved some action items during its meeting on Wednesday, October 20.

According to unofficial minutes from the meeting, the board OK’d the purchase of a shade structure for the elementary playground. Parkscape Solutions, LLC, was awarded the bid, which includes installation, for $24,873.30. The board thanked the Glasgow PTO for its donation of $4,000 to the project. The structure will take 14 to 16 weeks for delivery, and it should be installed by the spring.

In other news, the board approved a bid from Turf Mark to install additional drainage behind home plate at John Donaldson Field; to remove a lip that has formed between second and third base; to aid in drainage and sharpen the lines in the infield area using a small amount of sod. The total cost for the improvements is $3,525 and will be paid for by using advertising money that has been placed in the field account for this purpose.

The board also approved the purchase of 50 tons of DuraEdge material for delivery in the spring.
