The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is scheduled to participate in the National Drug Take Back Day this weekend.
According to the law-enforcement agency, the event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Warrensburg Walgreens at 621 North Maguire.
Authorities say “If you’re attending the Homecoming Parade that day, simply come see us after the parade. You can pull up to our canopy in the northeast corner of the parking lot and don’t even have to get out of your car if you don’t want.”
The public can drop off potentially-dangerous prescription medications, including tablets, capsules, patches and other solid forms of prescription drugs. Liquids, syringes and illegal drugs will not be accepted.
Authorities add, “Helping dispose of potentially-harmful prescription drugs is just one way (the) DEA and local law-enforcement (agencies) are working to reduce addiction and stem overdose deaths.”
