
Several area police departments are scheduled to participate in the DEA’s Drug Take-Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, October 23.
The DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient and responsible way of disposing unwanted, unused and expired prescription drugs – while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medication.
The drop-off location in Marshall will be at the Marshall Municipal Court Building, at 5 East Eastwood Street – across from the Marshall Public Library.

The Lafayette County drop-off location is set for the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office at 107 South 11th Street in Lexington.

The Boonville Police and Fire Department is scheduled to accept items at 401 East Morgan Street and 500 Bingham Road.

The drop-off location in Waverly will be at the Waverly Police Department at 111 East Kelling Avenue.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is scheduled to accept items at the Warrensburg Walgreens at 621 North Maguire.

Note that only potentially-dangerous prescription medications, including tablets, capsules, patches and other solid forms of prescription drugs will be accepted. Liquids, syringes/sharps, illegal drugs and inhalers will not be accepted.
