Director of the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, Captain Kevin C. Kelley announced a Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program high-crash corridor saturation is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, November 1.

According to a news release, the high-crash corridor saturation will take place on Interstate 70 in 10 counties. Counties in the KMMO listening area include Cooper, Lafayette and Saline.

MSHP officials say troopers, commercial vehicle enforcement troopers and commercial vehicle officers will conduct inspections and take enforcement actions on commercial motor vehicle drivers who follow too close, speed, improperly change lanes, drive while fatigued or intoxicated, and those vehicles with critical vehicle inspection violations.

Officers will also maintain the Patrol’s zero tolerance for seat belt violations. The purpose of this MCSAP high-crash corridor saturation is to reduce the number of commercial vehicle-related crashes, fatalities, and injuries through aggressive enforcement, safety inspections, education, and high visibility.
