
Several action items were considered during the meeting of the Marshall Municipal Utilities’ Board of Public Works on Thursday, October 28.
The board approved items for Human Resources, the Electric Production Department, Underground Facilities and Water Treatment Department.
The Director of Electric Production, Carl Crawford said an invoice for $8720.78 has been received from C-R Fence of Concordia. Crawford said this is $1,085 higher than the quote approved by the Board.
C-R Fence submitted a change order in the amount of $1,085 as compensation for material only used on this project.
Crawford recommended a motion to accept the change order from C-R Fence in the submitted amount. The board approved the motion.
For Underground Facilities, Grant Piper said Proceanic has completed its inspection and mixer replacement in Reservoir No. 3. Piper told the board they found approximately 343 yards of silt that has to be removed.
The board approved the motion to accept the quote of the silt removal in Reservoir No. 3 for $58,995. The budgeted amount was initially $60,000, as reported on MMU’s meeting agenda.
In other business, with a budget of $122,000, in the Water Treatment Department, Travis Boss recommended a motion to request proposals to replace the media the two filters. Boss says this project is a multi-year project, with the goal to replace two filter per year.
The board approved the motion. The next regular board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 10.
