
A 1-year-old child, of Marshall, had to be airlifted to be treated after a two-vehicle traffic crash in Boone County on Wednesday, October 27.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when a southbound vehicle, driven by 29-year-old Sonnikqua McKamey, of Marshall, failed to stop at a stop sign and entered into the path of a westbound vehicle, driven by 56-year-old Lonnie Duncan, of Glasgow.
The 1-year-old boy in McKamey’s vehicle was first taken to University Hospital in Columbia and then flown by helicopter to St. Louis Children’s Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
McKamey suffered serious injuries; and a passenger in her vehicle- 37-year-old Brandon Lewis, of Marshall- and Duncan each sustained moderate injuries and were taken by ambulance to University Hospital for treatment. Nobody in McKamey’s vehicle was wearing a seat belt.
The crash happened at 11:28 a.m. on Highway 40 at Rollingwood Boulevard.
