A plea/trial-setting hearing is scheduled for a Concordia teen who is facing sex-related felony charges for allegedly having inappropriate sexual relations with a juvenile.

A probable-cause statement says on May 10, a 13-year-old girl alleged to the Lafayette County Department of Family Services that 18-year-old Caleb Michael Ingalls had been raping her. She also alleged Ingalls had assaulted her by throwing her to the ground and stomping on the side of her head, causing an injury that was treated at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Ingalls told authorities that regarding the alleged rape, the girl had seduced him, and the sex was consensual. And regarding the alleged assault, he said the girl had kicked him first.

According to court documents, Ingalls is charged with felonies including domestic assault in the third degree, statutory rape or attempted statutory rape in the first degree with a person less than 14 Years old. The court has ordered no bond.

The court did not take up Ingalls’ request for change of venue during his most-recent hearing on September 7.

Ingalls, who pleaded not guilty on July 2, is due for this hearing at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 1, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
