Mayor Schwetz met with the Saline County Career Center DECA chapter, on Tuesday, November 2, to present a proclamation declaring November DECA month.

DECA began in 1946 and prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, and hospitality and management at the high school and collegiate level.

According to a news release the SCCC DECA chapter has several activities planned this month to help promote the organization and are scheduled to be work on several community service activities throughout the year.

Members shared with the mayor the projects they are working on this year which include community awareness, giving, business solution plans, and integrated marketing projects. During the proclamation, Kelly Stewart, SCCC DECA President, presented the mayor with an official DECA pin for supporting the student-led organization.
