There are currently 44 active positive COVID-19 cases in Lafayette County.

According to the Lafayette County Health Department, as of Tuesday, November 2, 41.5 percent of the county has been fully vaccinated, and 46.5 percent of county residents have received at least one dose.

There are 11 persons currently hospitalized, and the death total remains at 74 due to the virus.

The county’s positivity rate is 11.83 percent, per the CDC COVID Data Tracker.

Health officials say Odessa has the highest numbers of reported cases at 21. Concordia comes in second with six cases. Higginsville reported five cases. Lexington with four. Bates City and Wellington have two each.

These numbers do not include positive rapid antigen results, as they are not considered diagnostic by the CDC.

If you haven’t been vaccinated and would like to be, you can visit the health-department office on from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays or Wednesdays for its walk-in services.
