Area authorities made an arrest after a low-speed pursuit on Wednesday, November 3.

A release from the Pettis County Sheriff’s Department says at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Pettis County K9 Unit was conducting surveillance on a residence in the area of Route H and Mockbee/Fowler Streets in reference to illegal drug activity.

A short time later, Pettis County deputies and the K9 Unit observed a vehicle fitting the description of a vehicle that had been reported coming and going during all hours of the night. The Pettis County K9 Unit attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, and the driver fled at a low rate of speed- approximately 30 mph.

The driver eventually stopped and was taken into custody. Authorities say the driver was found to be in possession of 11 grams of methamphetamine and a digital scale; was driving while revoked; and had two active warrants for his arrest, one of which is a no-bond probation/parole violation.

The driver was placed on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges. Charges being sought include: possession with the intent to deliver; felony driving while revoked; and felony resisting arrest.

Per KMMO policy, the name of the suspect will not be released until formal charges are filed.
