Bond is set at $25,000 cash only for a New Franklin man charged with felonies after a reported domestic disturbance on November 1 in Howard County.
According to a Howard County Sheriff’s report, Central Dispatch advised a deputy that they could hear a male subject in the background of a call to authorities yelling that he was going to kill someone. Upon their arrival, officers found a female being held hostage and bleeding from the face. The woman told authorities the man had gotten upset about something, struck her in the face with his fist and grabbed her by the hair, shaking her around.
Rex Dean Wilkerson is alleged to have recklessly caused serious physical injury to the woman by punching her in the face and grabbing her hair. The woman was transported to the emergency room by family members.
Court documents say Wilkerson is charged with a felony for domestic assault in the second degree.
Wilkerson’s initial hearing is pending at Howard County Circuit Court.
