Students and teachers at Marshall Public Schools will no longer be required to wear a mask inside school buildings beginning today.
Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher issued an announcement Friday afternoon stating out of the seven public schools in Marshall, there is only one individual who has currently tested positive for COVID-19 and another who is being held on quarantine.
Superintendent Dr. Maher says, “The mask mandate is lifted, as of now, until reevaluation on Friday, December 3. If for any reason- or at any time- we see a spike in cases, the Board of Education and I may reinstate the mandate. We are hoping that will not be necessary.”
Officials say the mask mandate will still be in place on school buses. This is a federal law that local officials cannot alter.
