A Richmond man was killed in a traffic crash in Johnson County this morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred a 2005 International driven by 64-year-old Charles Griffin, of Sweet Springs, swerved into the southbound lane to avoid striking a truck stopped in the northbound lane.

While entering the southbound lane, Griffin collided head-on with a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Anthony Johnson, who was not wearing a safety device.

Johnson was pronounced deceased on scene.

The crash occurred at 8:57 a.m. Friday, November 5, on Missouri Highway-13 at Route H.
