
Carl D. Kreisel, age 92, of Houstonia, MO, died Sunday, November 7, 2021, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, November 12, at Houstonia Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, November 11, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.

Born August 28, 1929, in Warsaw, MO, he was the son of the late H.H. Kreisel and Goldie Mae Frisch Kreisel. Carl lived in the Houstonia area most of his life and was a 1946 graduate of Houstonia High School. On May 24, 1950, he married Sakie Evelyn Venable who preceded him in death on September 12, 2005. In 2010, he and Betty Lou Dotson were married and she preceded him in death on March 31, 2021. Carl was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed working on the family farm. Through the years he was an avid race car spectator, enjoyed his horses, especially Tennessee walkers and fox trotters; and going on trail rides where he made a lot of new friends. Carl was a member of Houstonia Baptist Church and Sweet Springs Saddle Club.
Survivors include five children: Michael Dean Kreisel of Houstonia, Thomas Stephen Kreisel (Connie) of Houstonia, Karen Ann Brandt (Robert) of LaMonte, Daniel Ray Kreisel (Melissa) of Houstonia, and Jeffery Dale Kreisel (Missie) of Houstonia; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Herb Kreisel of Fairfield, IL, and Eldon Kreisel of Hughesville; one sister, Marge Charles of rural Sweet Springs; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
In addition to his parents and wives, Carl was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Allen Kreisel; three sisters: Lola May Dieckhoff, Edna L. Smith and Bertha I. Charles; and two sisters in infancy.
