Scammers are at it again.

The Warrensburg Police Department says this one goes like this:
“The scammer calls your business and explains that you didn’t respond to a subpoena (and we are going to arrest you). Keep in mind the caller ID shows it’s the Warrensburg Police Department calling you and they even use a real officers name.”

Police officials say it’s a minor detail that you won’t get arrested for not answering a subpoena, but never the less, what do you do? Police officials advise you what not to do.

Police officials say “You’re not going to give them any personal information for you, your personnel or any client information. Please call us to verify. If it is WPD calling, we will never get angry about you wanting to verify who we are. It is never an inconvenience for us to put your mind at ease.”
