The Higginsville Police Department has issued a traffic alert- but it has nothing to do with a traffic crash nor roadwork.

Police officials say on 31st Street in front of the Middle School is a new crosswalk with a sign.

Police officials urge residents to “Please approach the sign cautiously; and if people are using the crosswalk, you must come to a complete stop to allow them to cross the street. Once the crosswalk is empty, you may then proceed. This crosswalk, with sign, will only be displayed during school times.”
