The Missouri Valley College Morris Gallery of Contemporary Art is scheduled to host a Winter Pop-Up Exhibit from Tuesday, November 30 through December 9.

According to a press release, the pop-up exhibit is focused on making art accessible and to give local artists of all skill levels and backgrounds a place to showcase their work. There is no fee to exhibit and artists may retain 100 percent of sales made. Anyone from the Marshall community or surrounding communities may enter including MVC faculty, staff and students.

Linda Pepper Lane, Morris Gallery director says, “I am so excited to share this pop-up exhibit with the community. Pop-up exhibits are typically temporary, informal shows that allow artists to share their work in a more approachable or novel way. With this show, I want to help heal the disconnection of the formally perceived arts with the public. I want to help the public to gain a better understanding of what it means to appreciate, empathize with and create art today as well as understand and respect contemporary works that are currently coming to fruition. I hope that all who enter and visit enjoy this show as much as I have enjoyed planning it.”

Entries must be submitted to the Morris Gallery of Contemporary Art before Monday, November 29. Artists will be notified of acceptance by November 29. Contact the Morris Gallery for entry form, exhibition agreement and details via by emailing lanem@moval.edu.

The Morris Gallery Winter Pop-Up Exhibit will be open to the MVC community and public for viewing. Asymptomatic status and mask-wearing is strongly encouraged for entry.
