An area police department has issued a local alert to Higginsville residents with CenturyLink.

According the the Higginsville Police Department, it had been informed CenturyLink is having issues with 9-1-1 service.

Authorities say, in case of an emergency, if you are experiencing issues calling 9-1-1, you are urged to contact the dispatch center at (660) 584-2104.
